    Who are we?

    Sociedad Andaluza de Oftalmología (Andalusian Ophthalmologic Association) is a scientific organisation with no lucrative intention, with more than thirty years existence within Ophthalmology field. SAO is nowadays composed by more than two hundred and fifty associates, in most cases ophthalmologists, though any interested professional is enticed to become a member.

    SOAE organizes an annual meeting, MARBELLA 2008, which is the major scientific activity, and meeting point for all ophthalmology professionals from Andalucia and Extremadura; even though many other ophthalmologists visit us every year attracted by the pleasant enviroment, nice weather, scientific programme, and friendly atmosphere of our congress.

    We have incorporated a different meeting, dealing with infirmary within Ophthalmology field, to our annual congress since 1998. Our scientific activities are prolonged throughout the rest of the year, we will point out the monthly seminars, course opening scientific session and other teaching activities. SAO collaborates with those institutions who ask for it, and it is actually present in AHS' (Andalusian Healthcare Service) consultant comission.
